New Car | Scheduled for June-July Release Next Year | All-New SUV Nearly 5 Meters Long, More details Xiaomi YU7 Released

Recently, Xiaomi Auto officially unveiled more images of its first SUV, the Xiaomi YU7, showcasing the vehicle from various angles. Positioned as a mid-to-large SUV, the YU7 largely inherits the design language of the Xiaomi SU7. Measuring nearly 5 meters in length with a 3-meter wheelbase, the vehicle is equipped with a dual-motor system and is set to launch in June-July next year. It is expected to compete with the Tesla Model Y. For reference, the Xiaomi SU7 is priced between 215,900 and 299,900 yuan.

Based on the latest official images, the Xiaomi YU7 retains the overall design of the Xiaomi SU7, featuring a closed front-end design with unchanged headlight contours and front bumper styling. However, the upper part of the YU7's headlamp assembly appears to have a hollowed-out design, which may house aerodynamic elements such as air ducts.

In addition, the YU7 adopts a coupe-style sloping roof design, with side window outlines consistent with the Xiaomi SU7. Notably, the YU7 is equipped with a rooftop LiDAR system and flush door handles.

At the rear, the Xiaomi YU7 sports a full-width taillight assembly, though its design differs slightly from that of the SU7. The vehicle also features a hollow-style spoiler on the roof.

According to declaration data, the Xiaomi YU7 measures 4,999 mm in length, 1,996 mm in width, and 1,600 mm in height, with a 3,000 mm wheelbase. It offers a 5-seat layout and comes with three wheel size options: 19-inch, 20-inch, and 21-inch.

Currently, only exterior images of the Xiaomi YU7 have been released by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) and Xiaomi’s official channels, with interior details yet to be disclosed. However, previous spy photos suggest the YU7 might feature the same multifunction steering wheel as the SU7 and a large floating central control screen. Additionally, the YU7’s co-pilot dashboard design appears to be significantly different from that of the SU7.

In terms of power, the Xiaomi YU7 is equipped with a dual-motor system, with the front motor producing a maximum output of 220 kW and the rear motor generating 288 kW. The vehicle’s top speed is 253 km/h. It is paired with a ternary lithium battery pack, although specific battery capacity details remain undisclosed.

Positioned as a fully-electric mid-to-large SUV, the Xiaomi YU7 is expected to be priced higher than the SU7 due to its market positioning. For reference, the Tesla Model Y is a fully-electric mid-size SUV with a price range of 249,900 to 354,900 yuan. While the two models differ in size, the YU7's pricing will likely target the Tesla Model Y.
